What should I wear, when I attend the clinic ?

We will need to be able to gain access to the area where the pain is originating from therefore, it is recommended that you either where Sports shorts or underwear that you feel comfortable to be examined and treated in. Your dignity Will be considered at all times and if you feel you need a chaperone please feel free to bring them.

 

Do I need to see a doctor first ?

Many of my patients will come straight to the clinic for treatment even when there in a lot of pain. An assessment Will be made and advice given if you do need to consult your GP before any therapy is given. If you have health insurance you may need to see your GP and speak to your health provider before an appointment is made here  at the clinic.

 

Can I claim to my health insurance?

The clinic is registered with a number of health insurances including BUPA ,PPP, Pro health, Standard life etc however they will all have different criteria to meet and fees they will pay for treatment so it is prudent to speak to them first before booking an appointment and a claim reference number will often be needed on your first visit.

 

Does it matter how old I am?

Age can be limiting factor with the treatment of certain conditions but if your concerned  please call us and Speak to me personally and I will advise.

 

Is osteopathy suitable if you’re pregnant?

Certain injuries can commonly occur when you’re pregnant due to the changing posture caused by the babies size and these can certainly cause symptoms which osteopathy can sometimes help with.

 

Is it painful?

Some massage techniques can be a little bit uncomfortable at the time while treating and there can sometimes be a little  soreness following a session with an osteopath but this should only be short lived. No techniques are given to a patient without full consent and an explanation of the procedure, what it entails and what can be expected following it.
